Default can i connect my ps3 to internet through my laptops wireless connection?

i am at college and my laptop is connected to the colleges internet. i stay just across the road and signal is good. i was wondering if i could connect my ps3 to the wireless internet my laptop is getting. i dont want to tell the college my ps3 is connected to there wi-fi basically. thanks in advance
it is not a pasword protected router. and to connect my laptop all i needed to do was give them my MAC adress. still how do i go about getting connection?

*** the ps3 wond connect directly to the router. i need to connect it to my laptop manually

Yes you can as long as you have the WEP or WPA code for the router.

No, your laptop doesn't have the ability to act as Wireless Access Point or a Wireless Repeater.
