I have my little house all done up, but it's a little bare since I just started.

How do I buy new furniture?

Also.. I just had a baby girl, but it didn't tell me it was a girl before I had to name it. It brought up the keyboard, and "Chris" was already typed in, so I assumed it was a boy. I changed it to James, but then when I saved it I realized it was a girl. How do I change her name?!
I knew about "Buy Mode" but I don't know how to get there!

Buy furniture by entering buy mode and choose which room that you want to furnish.

To change the baby's name you will have to wait until she's a toddler and then you can go to city hall and click on it, the option for "rename James" will show up then.

Edit: I haven't played the Sims on wii before, but I would think that there would still be the controls on the bottom left like on PC. There should be one for "live mode," "buy mode," and "build mode."

The buy mode button should have a picture of a chair on it.
