I'm getting my son a wii for xmas. What do i need to get so he can use it xmas morning and not wait to get the batteries or some wire I forgot. Also game suggestions if you know of anything good. I am on a limited budget and would love any money saving suggestions for games and equipment. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond.
ok as to my sons age, he is 16 but he is developmentally delayed, so I don't think he would be offended by games a bit on the younger side like most 16 yr old boys lol.. His cousins have a wii and he seems to enjoy it and it's what he asked for. Game wise he loves car games and is just getting into spy type games..he isn't into sports games (I'm hoping the wii games will be different because of the different play style...throw in some moving around with his gaming.) |

Yeah, don't forget those batteries because they are important
![]() As for games, It really depends on how old your son is. Could you add his age in the additional details? I'll edit my answer accordingly. The reason why I ask is because if your son is 10+, then the Wii may not be the right console for him, as many children's 05-07 Christmas Wiis are collecting dust at this point. Nintendo also hasn't been releasing vary many new IP's for Wii... But here are my own personal recommendations for Wii games: Mario Kart Wii(Should come free with specific black Wii Bundle) New Super Mario Brothers(Should come free with the Black Wii Bundle) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess(MSRP $19.99) Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2(MSRP $19.99 for 1, prices vary for 2) MadWorld(prices vary) Okami(once again, Prices Vary) Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Can be had on PlayStation 2 for way cheaper though) The Wii has many hidden gems that could be played but as I said before, Wii may not be his console, you may want to lean towards the Xbox 360 of PS3 if he's a little older. |

Every wii comes with the game WiiSports and just so you know, on the wii menu theres a channel called the mii channel and you can design miis (little wii people) and then you can be them in the game wiisports. Good luck!

Your son sounds like a tot who may get bored with expensive gifts quickly because he doesn't understand how to appreciate things. If he's under 9 years old, I would start him off with a Nintendo DSi or a Nintendo 3-Ds. Kids in my class love those things.

Okay the wii comes with a controller and nun chuck and a game and a set of double a batteries so hell be good to go for basic wii playing. If you want to go for extras you could buy another controller and nun chuck for you to play with your son or for his friends to play with him. A few extra games would not hurt either. Look at some of the original wii games they are some of the best like super mario galaxy and mario kart wii. Best buy and other stores also have ten dollar games and stuff so if you look in your local adds and find the cheapest deals you'll be fine. I think walmart has had the best deals this season for will equipment.
