will need a little more info, what does the wii mote do?
hold the 1 and 2 at the same time.
or hold the sync buttons on the wii and wii mote.

You have to sync it to the wii. When the wii is on, open up the front panel thing and there should be a red button that says sync. Now, dont press it yet. Take the battery cover off the wiimote and there should be a little red button in the corner. Now, with the wii turned on. Press both at the same time. You may have to try once or twice for it to sync, but once its done, youll know.
