Sega aren't making consoles anymore, however, the Mega Drive/Genesis was a popular console and still is today. I would like to own one again and so would loads of other people. So should Sega re release it and re release new games and even make new games for it? Obviously the console and games would have to be at a low price, but I think people would still buy it.
It's not like people won't buy it because of the new generation of consoles, because it wouldn't competing with them, anyway. |

Personally, I would love to see the Sega Genesis come out again. It would be real nostalgic and bring back some fond memories. The games were fun, creative and original.
Unfortunately, there is no real market for 16 bit console games as younger players love to play online. ( I admit, I do too on Xbox Live and Steam on PC). Also, most games are now in 3D, which gives games more sense of play control depth and graphic enviroment detail. I don't think a sega Genesis system re-release would sell very well to many people, simply because of the limited gaming playing options and visuals. In 1998, Sega genesis 3 version came out and it wasn't even made by Sega. It was produced by Majesco. That tells me Sega will never touch the genesis again.... too bad. |
