Does anyone know if this is a regular thing? For the past year almost every day or every time I put a different game in, my ps3 requires a software update. Often these updates take 30-45 minutes to download so I don''t even want to use it anymore once its done. Does anyone know if this is a universal problem or if it may just be a problem with my system? Thanks

It depends on how long you go in-between games. Like say you play Madden 12...and then you dont play that specific game for a month or however long...then yeah you'll have an update. If that's not the case I would call Sony and ask them about it.

Usually when you update you only have to do it once until the next update which is usually once per month
Games are patched separately Either you don't play games very often or the update fails |

Thats completely normal. Games update no matter what platform you are on, whether its pc, ps3 or 360. You dont have to update anyway if you dont want to play online. If you hit circle during updates, it'll cancel the update and load the game up. Although i have noticed an annoying message that keeps popping up thats basically begging you to update. To remove that annoyance, cut the internet from the ps3. You can do this in network settings, unplugging the internet from the ps3, or turning your wifi router off.
