My parents asked me what to get for my step daughter for xmas. We bought her a Wii and suggested that they buy her a 2nd controller, but apperantly there are multiple types of controllers.
Which type of Wii controller would be best? Is it a good idea to get another controller? Should I have them get her a different accessory? Thanks a lot! |

The gold standard kind of wii controller resembles a tv remote in shape. It retails for $30. There is a version of the remote that comes packaged with a game called "Wii Play" which sells for $50. The nunchuk is an attatchment to the standard $30 remote that costs $20 and is not a remote in and off itself. Only certain games require it, but the systems more highly touted games such as Mario Galaxy do require it.
There are also speacialty remotes such as the zapper that is shapped like a gun, but these remotes are of debatable utility at best. There are also "classic" controllers being sold which are meant mostly for people downloading old games onto the wii and wanting to play them with a more traditional controller. This controller would not be of much use if she is only playing current generation wii titles. |
