To answer your question...
Between Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES), Yoshi's Story (N64), Donkey Kong Country (SNES) & Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)... Having played the originals & having these on my Wii as well... My Recommendations are... 1) Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) 2) Donkey Kong Country / 2 (SNES) 3) Yoshi's Story (N64) Super Mario Bros. 3 is a very solid title & considered one of the best "Classic Mario" games. The only issue you'll likely have is that there's no official save support. The Donkey Kong Country series (SNES) is a fair second choice, but it may not be as enjoyable since there are some frustrating stages mixed in there. However, the replay value is mostly in finding all the secrets... as the DKC series is notorious for going beyond 100% & it does have save support. DKC2 (SNES) is somewhat of a continuation of DKC & is a bit harder than the original. I can't say it's better or worse, but you might be better off starting with DKC first. Yoshi's Story (N64) is the weakest choice mostly because it's a fairly short game that only have 6 stages per game (although there are 24 overall stages) & the game's fairly easy as you just have to eat 30 pieces of fruit to proceed through the stage... unless you want to take the challenge of getting all 30 melons for each stage (which makes the game a bit more difficult as you're going for perfection). That's my 2 KB here... Hope it helps! |

Never played Yoshi's story, but Super Mario 3 & Donkey Kong Country are both great games. If you just want to play by yourself, I would get Mario 3, but if you want to play 2 players at once, get Donkey Kong.
