Default Would a Wii controller bought in Europe work with a Wii purchased in the United

States? We have a Wii purchased in the U.S and found a great deal on 4 Wii controllers. I am curious if they would connect to the US Wii.

Nah. Besides the Famicon days, there's never been a case of a video game controller acting incompatible with a console from overseas. You can even mis-and-mash controller parts, with Wii remote from the UK and a Nunchuk from Canada. Even Miis can be shared from region-encoded consoles to each other. The Wii itself IS region-encoded, so if you buy a Skyward Sword bundle from Japan you can't play the game. But all hardware is 100% interchangeable.
Bluetooth is bluetooth the world over.

Personal experience from buying a Canadian-made Wii Remote and using it on an American-made Wii.

Um... yeah. All you have to do is connect the controller with the Wii and voila, you can play the Wii.
